2022 into 2023...
December 1, 2022! 31 days left of 2022. My early morning prayer time today led to praying about 2023 and "be intentional" popped into my head.
I've had a fantastic year professionally and have been very blessed to grow my business and help so many more families meet their goals. I've struggled with finding balance in that. I've missed out on some "fun" social events, spending time with family, my daughter, etc. This year I was very intentional with my business and it has paid off, but what many don't realize when they "are thinking of getting their real estate license" is the countless hours of dedication it takes to be truly successful.
I'm happy at any time to discuss the realities of being an agent if you're curious, feel free to message me. While many brokerages are constantly recruiting, offering free classes, etc, and agents showing off their best lives on socials, there is a truth telling side to this business that remains in the background. 100% if someone is recruiting you and not fully explaining that, they are not doing it to help YOU. Please talk to other agents, NOT in one specific brokerage. Do your due diligence even if it looks Free. It is NOT all rainbows and butterflies to be an agent.
I absolutely LOVE my business, it is not for everyone. Please know there are expenses, struggles, and sacrifices made to create a successful real estate business.
It is hard.
It is mentally draining.
You hurt for your clients when things aren't going well.
You take on their burdens.
You work every day.
Yes, every day. Even while on "vacation".
You work all hours.
You will work very early mornings and very late nights.
If you're slow, you have to be working to not be slow. If you are slammed busy, you have to make it all work because you don't know when the next "slow" period is coming.
It can be lonely.
You cannot control outside forces that affect your business, i.e.: world changes, economy, pandemics, politics, fear mongering news, etc.
It is expensive. Both financially and expensive with your time.
You will drive an exorbitant amount of miles.
You are on your phone constantly, texts, calls, emails, putting out fires, calming fears, explaining/educating.
YOU ARE A VOLUNTEER until the client is ready and the stars align.
It is also the most rewarding experience you can imagine when you help your clients reach their goals.
It is building lifelong relationships with such great people.
It is helping people get through some of their most expensive investments and watching them laugh and cry and walking through that with them.
My goal is to be more intentional with family and friends in 2023 while continuing to grow my real estate business. Finding that balance is necessary and I'm always a work in progress. I'm not sure why I felt led today to share these thoughts, but here's to wrapping up 2022 and reflecting. Here's to moving forward with MORE intention, being more present, and living in the moment. are your goals for 2023?
